Time passes...

Happy new year!

So another year has passed and somehow, without asking for my permission, so has another week since I last posted in here.

I've been working on paintings for the second edition of Mathew Taylor's  book. "The Illusionist" for the front cover and "Ophelia" or "The Four Illusions" for the back.

I've had great fun but can't help wishing there was just more time - time to do all the other things I would ideally have liked to have done this week: Writing books, reading to my children more often, reading to myself at all... But time passes and the only thing I can do is try to make sure I don't waste it.

There's a verse in the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible that says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." I think that's great advice. I just wish I knew which thing to do with all my might first!

I don't really do new year's resolutions, for all sorts of reasons. But perhaps my all-year resolution should be to breathe more consistently deeply and to take stock more often. Just to make sure I'm getting my priorities right. I suspect that if I did this, everything else would follow.
